Whether your adventure consists of visiting friends and family, Whitewater Rafting or climbing in the Black Canyon, a more leisurely float through Dominguez-Escalante NCA, MTB the legendary Fruita or Ridgway bike trails, ice climbing Ouray Ice Park, gold-medal fishing, big game hunting, OHV riding, or tasting wine, fruit or Olathe sweet corn, Riverwood Resort on the Gunnison is your basecamp on the Western Slope.
Spend your morning on our 1/3rd mile Gunnison Riverwalk with your pet. Drop in a fishing line or a kayak right in front of your room or RV or pick up rafts, kayaks, or SUP from us for a float.
Our rooms are large and clean, most with private patios, several with full kitchens, and one two-bedroom suite with a full kitchen and a huge riverfront patio. TVs range in size from 26” to 55” and have Roku connectivity. The campground has full hookup sites with plenty of shade, a recently renovated bathhouse, coin-operated laundry, and, in Spring 2024, a new community grill station.
Our hotel features 16 units, including a single queen room, several double queen rooms - some with full kitchens - and kings rooms, and a two-bedroom apartment replete with a large kitchen/dining room perfect for large families.
All but one of our rooms have private patios and an exterior entrance, in addition to the interior entrance. For those rooms that do not have kitchens, you can still enjoy the comforts of a minifridge, microwave and Keurig coffee.
Step outside onto your private patio and breathe in the fresh mountain air while taking in the stunning views of the Gunnison River and majestic mountains.

Our pet-friendly hotel goes the extra mile to ensure that your furry companions feel right at home during their stay. Our rooms feature a private patio, and each room is equipped with all the essentials during your stay: Food bowl filled with delicious treats and a cozy blanket to curl up on after a day of adventure.
When booking, please let us know how many pets you’re bringing. There is a maximum of three per room or RV Spot and a cleaning fee for the hotel.

Primitive Tent & RV Sites
New for 2024 are 10 campsites in our 8 acres of primitive forest land. These primitive tent and camper sites offer a serene escape for outdoor enthusiasts seeking an off-grid experience. The land is a peninsula covered by old growth Cottonwood and Elm trees tapping into significant water supplies.
You will truly disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, but still be able to walk to the bathhouse or drive to nearby amenities. Each site is thoughtfully placed to maximize privacy and immersion in nature, offering the perfect setting for stargazing around a crackling campfire or listening to the soothing sounds of the Gunnison River.
